Jesus' transfiguration.

Peter, James and John were with Jesus at the great moments of his life. Like Elisha, who saw Elijah's ascension, they were able to see the transfiguration of this illumined soul. "As Jesus

prayed the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistening.

Behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias; they talked of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem." (We have here a very different experience than the one recorded in I Sam. 28:7-20. )

Jesus then admonished his three companions not to speak of this wonderful proof of eternal life they had witnessed, until after he had raised his body from the tomb.

"This man calleth for Elias."

The soul that is conscious of eternal life needs no medium through which to enjoy the companionship of loved ones. They will not pass from his vision when lie knows that there is no death.

The word itself, in time, will become obsolete; it is without meaning. It is quite natural to think
