Thief, past, the thing that steals away our present realization; thief, future, steals away our realization of present possession. The malefactor who railed at Jesus represents the past we must drop the past by bringing or calling it into the kingdom. Say to it, " This day (of understanding) shalt thou be with me in Paradise."

The three days in the tomb would mean the process of being perfected in consciousness time had nothing to do with it.

He was preaching to the spirits in prison. This would indicate future salvation, for he was surely preaching the good news of salvation to them.

On the third day came the resurrection, as it always will to the one who has been crucified and has come to the place of illumination. This same resurrection is ours. Rom. 8:11. This spirit dwells in each of us, then if we dwell in it, if we are conscious of it, it will quicken this which we have called the mortal body. We can do the same things Jesus did (John 14:12), but we must know what he knew. His works were the result of the consciousness of what he was; he was one with God, and if he had never varied from that, there would have been no cross. The resurrection was the beginning of the consciousness which was finished in the ascension.
