Personal consciousness presents our first perception of Truth when form is seen without the illumination of understanding. It is a good beginning. It is the coming forth of One into all hence, it is the plane of conception and birth. Death is generated in birth. To conceive of bringing forth in "time" and according to "conditions" is an opinion to which later our consciousness must die. Thus "being born" is the first step to "dying." Generation brings us into the "first death." If we had never been "born" we could never "die"; but because we have been "born, we must die."

As we enter understanding we begin at once to die to what we were, or to what we conceived ourselves to be. "I die daily" --- Paul: Understanding is regeneration, a second birth, re-birth, a higher step. Jesus said, "Ye must be born again." The second step is a "new birth" which we enter through the death of the old. John 8:51. We enter "our world" through birth; we were born into the "earth," we shall leave the "earth" through death (to that belief), and have our new birth in "heaven" (kingdom of harmony), our second step towards full realization of Truth.

In the first, or earth consciousness, body rules.

In the second, or heaven consciousness, soul reigns.

"After death (the first death) the judgment."
