The Galatians' apostasy surprising.

"The Gospel preached of me is not after man, not learned in Jerusalem, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. It pleased God who called me by his grace to reveal his Son in me (not to me) that I might preach him among the heathen. After three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, but other of the Apostles saw I none, save James, the Lord's brother. Paul's logical questioning.

Paul spoke with the passion of a heart trembling with anger and anxious love, in order to appeal to his converts who were leaving his teaching; he appealed to them by all that was dearest, by their old affection for him.
