The prophets were first speakers, not writers.

The Books as they now stand were collected and arranged by disciples of the prophets, rather than by the prophets themselves. Just as Jesus left no written message, only by his disciples do we get his words.

Prophecy surpasses or transcends prediction, because it embraces a recognition of the cause as well as the effect.

Interpretation of the prophecies we are studying is largely dependent upon our understanding of principle, the Omnipresence of God, and of the laws of the figurative language of type and symbol. The subjects of prophecy differ but all are directed to one general end, the victory of righteousness and Truth over ignorance.

True prophecy is a Divine Message referring not alone to the future, but also to the present and past. It is the understanding of the law Of cause and effect. God, the Source and Cause all that has come forth, the effect.

Prophecy may be a revelation, a rebuke, an exhortation, a warning, a promise, or a prediction.

Hosea 12:10
