body full of all good. Looking to the external as
a cause is the beginning of thoughts sowing mingled seed. The Tree of Life represents Man
as he is seen and known by thought that recognizes
and faithfully holds to Spirit as all Source and
Cause. Soul and body are then seen as the perfect image and likeness of Spirit, and the oneness
of Creator and Creation is realized.
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
represents the same man as he appears to our
thought when it forgets the One and Only Source
and claims form to be a source when it looks upon
the visible as the maker of our happiness and wisdom. Divine order, or law, is thus reversed it
moves always from within outward --- from Mind
through thought to Word from Spirit through
individual soul to body from the vine through
the branches to the fruit --- and never otherwise.
To turn to "Egypt" for help, is to partake
here and now of the Tree of Knowledge of good
and evil, for it is to look to form, to things we can
see and handle, for the support of our life and
health. This is a mistake, a missing of the mark,
a sin, for only in Invisible Spirit Omnipresent,
Omnipotent, can we find any Cause for good.
Adam and Eve partake of this false belief because thought is in its growing condition.
Israel turns to this false belief of good for the
same reason.
