Under this approval of self we withdraw
daily from contact with our fellows
and in absolute quiet spend an hour daily,
as nearly as possible the same hour, listening,
resting, waiting for the impulse which
will direct us on the path which is our very
own.
Through this law of mood we attract
strength and wisdom and store them away
to meet any crisis which may arise.
Thus while we wait are we better able
to do those duties with which we are now
employed.
Some time, perhaps soon, perhaps after
long waiting, comes the impulse to learn
some trade, or engage in some business,
and we know that at last we have found
ourselves.
Then we must not rush into it but think,
in our solitude, about the best way to commence
