UNWORTHY people who do not understand the laws of life and live in a state of mere existence, usually suffering from ill health, often console themselves with the idea that when they pass out of this life a great change will be effected without volition on their part. They believe all good things will come to them and that an eternity, which begins then, will hold only joy and idleness. They are doomed to disappointment. There are no sudden transitions in nature nor can there be sudden transitions in spirit law. Improvement, to be constant, must be a gradual awakening and a gradual growth.
