It does seem pretty miserable and crusty and seamed on the outside, as though it were all going to pieces, but it isn't going to do anything of the kind. It is as sound and rich and beautiful at the centre as anything you can imagine. Yes, better than anything you can now imagine. You will see straight into its heart some day, and then you will know all far better than I can tell you.
