We do not change Reality. But our thoughts are like writings on a blackboard; they may be rubbed out and replaced by others. We must not only continuously identify ourselves with the desires of our heart, being certain they do not deny goodness, but must erase and remove all contrary ideas. Jesus indicated that God desires us to have every good thing. The song of a joyous life is always being sung, but we do not hear it.

But God cannot give us love through hate; God cannot give us peace through confusion; God cannot give us happiness through misery; God cannot give us joy through our tears. God cannot express harmony through discord. God cannot express in opposites. If He did He would destroy Himself, which He cannot do. Because of this Jesus said: "Ye cannot serve God and mammon." And in the Bhagavad Gita we find the admonition that we will have to do away with the pairs of opposites. We cannot walk east and west at the same time.

We have to learn that if we want to draw out of the Divine Nature that which is in It, we must cooperate with the nature of Its Being. That is the only limitation that is set on humanity. What we may believe about It will not change It. All the belief the world has ever had about hell never created any hell outside of the discord in the consciousness of the people who believed in it. There is no more chance that there is a hell than there is in the idea that God is the devil.
