the old and the new, and carry the case quickly past its crisis into perfect relief and cure.

This stage has been described as the warring between Truth and error, the latter being slow to give up its claim, and possessed with fear of losing its life and being, so that the patient thinks himself to be in danger, and afraid of unknown consequences. Therefore fear is the principal error to be met at this time, and not another step is to be taken until fear is eliminated from the mind.

Often a denial of evil will seem to make the evil more real to one’s self, but if the student will persist, denying the specific forms of evil that keep coming to the surface, soon the crisis will be passed, and he will come into a new and beautiful consciousness of Truth which was formerly hidden by the fogs of his erroneous belief.

If, when denying matter, new and unusual experiences begin to come, then deny fear calmly and slowly, and when the fear is brushed aside old material chains will also fall, and the omnipotence and omnipresence of Mind be more of a reality than ever.

The Word is like a broom sweeping our house (the body) and often a great dust is raised in the process. Uninstructed minds often stop, through fear, when their work is only partly done. But he who trusts in Life, in Health, in Good, will press right on to the finish, knowing that

“in due season we shall reap if we faint not.”
