"Rod" stands for correction or discipline, individual.

"Thy staff" stands for the Truth. Thy Truth comforts me.

Wilderness. Found no water in wilderness."Water," divine possibilities. When we are not in our spiritual development, we do not see our divine possibilities.

Hunger. Quail and manna the answer. Manna fell six days, and had to be gathered each day except the seventh. There comes a time when we do not have to gather. Children of Israel "having seen these things afar off, died in the faith." We are seeing them in our midst; that is what the consciousness of the Omnipresence is doing for us. We should go to our Source every day and gather our Spiritual Manna; getting greater realization of the Presence of God.

No water. We must thirst for the Truth. "Struck the rock," correct our old mistakes and beliefs.

The remedy! Second Commandment. "Visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."
