Back of every sense desire is a spiritual force.
When you are craving stimulants of any kind
such as alcohol, morphine, tobacco and things of
like nature you must not condemn, but interpret
the desire. If you trace it back you will find that
before you desired these things you desired happiness or pleasure. This was the spiritual force
back of the desire.

The nerves, which are the connecting links between soul and body having been falsely educated
to respond to sensations induced through a gratification of the senses, deluded you into thinking
that your happiness could be obtained by yielding
to the demand of the senses.
