The will in itself is relatively dispassionate, like a ready servant. Human sinfulness cannot be attributed to the will alone. As an activity ready to carry out any prompting that is not inhibited, the will is capable of being regenerated if the personality is purified. The will shares, it does not own power. It may work together with God, in contrast with the assertiveness that causes friction. The consciousness that we may thus share lifts the soul, enlarging the sphere of interests and revealing incentives beyond measure. We appear to have been surrounded all the while by treasures which we sought without eyes to see them. The opportunities that are revealed under our gaze surpass even our fondest hopes.
