13 Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

The same defect as in the preceding Psalm. He partially realizes the higher aspect of “God,” but realizes God in the Negative also. God as a “ dwelling” = “I am in the Father.” The conception of

Beauty (verse 17) as the completeness of the Divine is remarkable and indicates a high class of knowledge. Beauty is the Reality proceeding from perfect Ideal, and perfect Power working it out. Cf.XCVI:6.

Psalm 91

HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Cf. Ps. XXXI: 20 and XCI: 9.
