Col. 11I: 3) are those who have learnt the secret of their true relation to the Great Divine Mind and are therefore always drawing from It and concentrating It in the innermost or “secret” principle of their being. “Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence,” etc. (Ps. XXXI: 20). This hiding is the same as Hephziball. These hidden ones are assaulted by spiritual enemies, here called by various names, just as the hidden ones themselves are called Israel. Various retributions are called down on the enemies, not for their everlasting destruction, but that they may “seek thy name, O Lord.” God willeth not the death of the wicked, but rather that they should turn from their wickedness and live. This Name of God is Jehovall, the expansion of which into its meanings would take a volume.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
