7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
The special call for understanding shows the veiled nature of this Psalm. God chooses for us each (verse 4) our specific inheritance. It is the supreme excelling of “Jacob,” i.e., the Scala Grande, its topmost grades” Choose “ — the Spirit divideth severally to each man as He will. God is the King — not the same King as in Ps. XLV. The translators seem to have known this for here it has a capital “K” and those a small one. It is the principle of holiness or Wholeness that constitutes God’s throne (verse 8). “Abraham” (verse 9) stands for Faith — the people of Faith. The Princes among such become, under God, the shields of the Earth. This is the College (Collegium) R.C. to which School R.C. is the training and introduction. Col. R.C. corresponds with “the Church of the Firstborn” (Heb.).
