Some let go of their errors immediately, and some cling to old thoughts even though earnestly desiring to drop them, fear, conventionality, or one of the causes mentioned by Jesus (Matt. 13: 21; Luke 8:14) seeming to prevent their progress.
Be true and possess your souls in patience. Realization will come. Only be faithful. What you consciously hold to-day sinks deep into the sub-conscious realm where lie these false memories and habits of thinking, and persistent right believing will at last displace the old mind and substitute for the untrue the true.
The renewing of our minds may be compared to the change which comes to one who has been journeying for months upon the sea, until his senses are charged with the motion of the ship. When he steps upon terra firma it may be for days that the land will seem to rock and roll, but he continually remembers the truth concerning his environment and himself, until at last his consciousness is normal, and he is at rest.
