If you feel that you are under criticism for mistakes of the past, take hold of the thought, "The Christ in me is always worthy." Let your faith in yourself find renewal in the knowledge that the Christ in you is ever worthy of the confidence of both God and man. Then you will dwell in strength and serenity and be filled with confidence born of Spirit.
This kind of confidence is based on spiritual truth, the truth that God the Father has implanted in you His own nature, His own life, intelligence, power, love, joy, and peace. This divinity within you is God's gift to you. It is unchanging, imperishable, eternal.
When we understand that we are children of God, the spiritual image and likeness of our heavenly Father, we are not moved by appearances, conditions, or personalities. Our reliance is on the Christ indwelling, on God within us, on God in everyone. "The Christ in me is worthy. I give my best, and I am deserving of the best in return."
