INDICATIONS OF HEALING
Question—In healing by mental and spiritual science, does one have aggravated symptoms at times as healing is taking place? It seems to me there would have to be some action or sensation physically.
ANSWER—Sometimes during the process of mental healing one has an aggravated symptom of the condition from which he has been suffering and sometimes old conditions come to the surface. This is called chemicalization and is a result of the up-rooting of thought from the subjective side of life. Since it is the nature of thought to manifest, it often happens that when subjective thought habits are disturbed they produce an agitation both in mind and in body. In such a case work should be done until a state of perfect normalcy results. It does not necessarily follow that there must always be a noticeable chemicalization, it is entirely possible for the healing to take place without any physical sensation whatever. All healing is a change of belief on the subjective side of life.
TREATMENT FOR BRONCHITIS
Question—Can you give me a good mental treatment for bronchitis? I can hardly speak without choking and coughing.
ANSWER—The treatment is simple and you should be able to effect your own healing by persistent mental practice. The first step is for you to recognize that far from being weak and helpless, you have only to choose and speak your word (page 90)
into that waiting substance which presses upon you at all times, and your word will act itself 0ut according to that which you have declared unto it. Therefore speak with authority and be sure that you believe with all your soul that you have the Power to heal yourself. Working thus, the congested thought which is centered in the bronchial tubes will be released: "I know that the Spirit of Infinite and Perfect Life is my life. I know that Absolute Intelligence controls every act of my life and that the purifying, energizing, unifying Life of God is now d0ing its perfect work in and through me; and I know that there is nothing in me to doubt or deny my word, and I AM FREE—God's perfect idea, whole, sound, complete."
