"We cannot live for ourselves alone; indeed, we begin really to live only when we live for others - for the Whole. It is your privilege and mine to be co-workers with God in leading souls to a realisation of their Divine Kinship and Oneness with the Source of all"
H.T. Hamblin
Three years after the death of Charles Dickens who chronicles the abusive social circumstances in England and was even more shocked at the excess of New York City, Henry Thomas Hamblin was born at Walworth, London in 1873. He arrived into a poor family ground under the boot of the British Class system, yet literally pulled himself up by those bootstraps. Even though at the time a proper school and training was not available except to the economically priveliged, Henry struggled through various jobs and despite his accumulated debts became an Optician. He maintained a positive attitude even in the face of many abuses that he suffered and eventually became a famous Optician founding a shop in Wigmore street and becoming a successfull business man, yet his success did not make him happy. He had a growing sense of depression until he began listening ot the voice with which whispered that true success would be found in the elevation of his fellow man to joyful lives.
