Divine Science recognizes the Bible as the history of the growth of man's awareness of God; accepts the Bible as a book of Life, the story of man's search for God. The Bible is the history of Everyman at the various stages of his unfoldment in consciousness from that of Adam in the Old Testament to the Jesus Christ state of consciousness in the New Testament. Through the study of the Bible we trace the development of man's concept of God as it is revealed through the medium of human experience. Therefore, it is natural that the Bible, especially the teachings of Jesus, should constitute a very important textbook of Divine Science. It is upon these teachings that Divine Science bases its interpretations of various doctrines.
