Later he affiliatiated with the Church of Religious Science opening the the First Church of Religious Science in New York City and becoming president of the IARSC.
Barker's greatest work was with the INTA, he was the youngest person to be INTA president. He loved the INTA, enthusiasticly entering into the affairs of the INTA, serving on committees, attending congresses, as well as working in regional INTA groups.
Barker was a dynamic INTA president, travelling to every major city in the USA holding rallies in the name of INTA. He averaged about two months a year on the road, usually working "one-night stands." Unity Centers hosted him throughout the country despite the fact that at the time Unity had withdrawn official connections with INTA by then. Barker was also an international speaker lecturing in Europe.
